The Sundancer
Inspiration is drawn from the touring theatre companies in Scotland from the 1970's led by John McGrath and radical 'out there' Japanese bands such as the Flower Travelling Band and the English Pink Fairies. More modern musical influences come from Spiritualized, Nick Cave, The Beta Band, Primal Scream, The White Stripes, The La's and The Zutons... This is about freedom, creativity, having a good time and spreading some love.You can trace a line going back 4,000 years and beyond to someone banging a drum, carving some rocks, painting some caves and singing on a hill top all the way through to this point...

Portnawak & the Woo are a footstamping, string abusing, joy spreading, 6 piece band of rural revel rousers. they play organic gypsy folk hop and psychedelic bounce music with the added element of Woo, using exclusively acoustic instruments, with guitar, fiddle, flute, clarinet, upright harmonium, cajon and a host of percussion, including a shamanic frame drum. Their musical mission is to take acoustic folk music as far as possible into the realms of punk, dance music and psychedelia without losing it's organic feel and crowd catching melody........... and most importantly to get people to wig out! |

Sons of Fionn are an eight piece folk band based in Edinburgh. Inspired by traditional Scots and Irish songs, the band plays many of the standards as well as their own compositions. There are stories of blood orgies and mindless vandalism, pacts with the devil and impersonation of members of the clergy. How much truth there is in these accounts is questionable, but it's generally accepted that most likely it all started when Fish and Johnny bought a mandolin and a banjo on a whim in early 2007....
